#MySundayPhoto 2014-05-04

This photo was taken yesterday morning, in my bed (yes, my bed is filled with crumbs).

I am sharing it, because it makes me smile.

S and I are very close, physically, we cuddle a lot; she sits on my lap all the time, either for stories or just because she's feeling a bit rubbish. When she cries at night, I pick her up and rock her back and forth until she calms back down. In the mornings, we'll quite often sit like this in bed, reading books or watching a dvd. I usually sit cross legged, with S sitting on my ankles and leaning on my chest.

This week, I hurt my back and was in agony for a day or so (more on that tomorrow). I was unable to lift S up when she cried, and it hurt too much to let her sit on my lap at all. She is two, and didn't understand why Mummy wasn't picking her up, or why she had to sit next to me rather than on me for story time. She was really not happy about these changes.

Yesterday morning, having been in agony since Thursday, I woke up feeling pretty good. I wasn't able to sit with S on my legs, but I was able to sit with her between my legs, leaning on me. She was pretty happy about that, and so was I!
